I've been alive for almost 22 years, and I have never eaten alone!
To me hanging around with a family member a friend or a collegue at lunch is spending a good time and having good talks! Today I just felt like going alone. This is how it went:
Okay, you eat what you really feel like eating and you dont have to compensate :)
You order really fast!!! Usually it takes more than 7 minutes to order ( Oh especially if you were girls) Today I just knew what to order and ordered.
Waiting for the food is BORING!! usually when there is someone and you are talking you dont feel it took THAT long to get the food.
While eating, you actually CHEW! You are not talking and missing out on the taste.
You feel weird as if everyone is looking at you eating!!! But it is the first time i realize how many people have lunch on their own! Some reading the newspaper, others just munching to get this over and go back to their offices and get back to work.
You finish the PLATE!! You dont leave out anything pretending you are full! :)
When you finish you leave, you dont wait and you dont take another 10 minutes of chit chatting!
A simple yet new experience. Might sound silly to some, but to me it was totally new!! Their are advantages to lunching alone, but I'd rather have company :)
