Break Time!

Anything interesting that comes to my mind, anything interesting I go through, and anything interesting I feel!

Reading and I!

Well … I was never a great reader!!!

I can always go to a bookstore and buy a book and start reading it… but NEVER NEVER ever did I ever get to the end!!! ( oh by the way even when it came to my text books back at school and uni)

Maybe the books I always read bored me at a certain point! Maybe am not patient enough! Maybe I never found something interesting!

Lately I’ve been trying to change all that! I do like learning and reading is one way!!

In my vacation a while ago I actually managed to finish 3 books! One great book ( Quran) and two not so great ( Dreamweaver for DUMMIES, and Great Expectations)

Now my coming up plan is finishing two books every month!!! How, when, and why.. mmmmm I am not sure!

I have already picked my two books for this month! ( Social Intelligence .. and Emotional Intelligence.. both by Daniel Goleman!)

Why these books!??? Mmmm well I always heard about the theories of emotional and social intelligence but never got to know them closely! Second reason being that I would want to learn and apply them at work J

I’ll tell you how that goes… but meanwhile I want to ask you guys for a favour…. I need suggestions of books that are interesting to read…. So that I could fill out my list J or you know what? I need suggestion of how to be good readers! So if anyone has gone through an experience like that or reads a lot then I would really need some help out here!

Oh these are two favors! :)

Love,

The best way to enjoy reading is to read something of your interest and something you like. What makes you think that you will finish reading a book that you do not like?? I would not!
So if you like biographies, fictions, or romance go for it. But i think with time and need you will start choosing your books according to what you want to learn and know in life then you will go for specialty books such as cooking , babies, home decor and so on.
I have always enjoyed biographies and real life stories. One of the best books i have ever read is “In search of Fatima” by Dr. Ghada al Karmi. Check it out, i am sure you will enjoy it. Have a wonderful day!

wallah I have the same problem !! but Im changing my habits, just like you!

someone give me these tips! they are great !!

and hey, I would suggest you don't set a deadline for finishing these books, don't make it a taks that you should do! rather, try to make it something you enjoy, not something you are obliged to do :)

Reading is awesome, I always liked it, but let's say I had a period of hybernation in which I forgot that fact... I was reminded of that in my 3rd year at uni, ever since I've been building my own library! when you finish what you're reading now maybe I can suggest new ones! there aremany interesting books out there!

Find a book that interests you and a friend. Read it at the same time. Compare your impressions.
